Do you come pickup my items?/Do on site appointments?
We can do a pick-up/drop-off service in the Portland metro area for large orders, but scheduling is complicated. We rarely do onsite appointments as scheduling is very tight for that kind of activity. If you are looking to throw a garden party where you invite others we can come out and work on site as long as you are willing to work with us for timing. We would need a flat area to work in with access to electricity.

Dishwasher?
If you must, but only if you must. The biggest danger in dishwashers is that your knife edge is bouncing off other items and thus dulling. The second thing is that dishwashers can and most likely will at some point crack the handle on your knife. For the dulling you can put them on the top rack blade up in such a way as to keep the edge from touching anything while the machine is on. For the handles you can keep your wood knife handles oiled well, this will help keep them from cracking, but there is nothing to be done about non-wood handles. My suggestion is to hand wash your knives.
How can I safely bring you my knives?
There is no 100% safe way, but I find wrapping them well in a towel is my favorite transportation method. I have also seen tupperware used. I do NOT suggest bringing them loose or in a plastic bag. Boxes are nice as well. Remember they may be dull now, but when you leave they are dangerous!
How long will my knife stay sharp?
Honestly it depends on a lot of things. Care and frequency of use makes a large difference as well as the quality of metal your knife is made out of. I have seen badly treated made in china or Taiwan knives last 3-6 months. I have also seen nice German knives come back at 2 years that are still pretty sharp. On average I tend to go with 6 months to a year for your average middle grade knife. Though I do like to warn you that sharp knives are addictive and you will likely think it is going dull way before you would have thought that before ^^.
Payment?
We LOVE cash. Don't mind checks and grudgingly take card. Our card fee is $0.50 for every $20.
There are a ton more questions out there. Please e-mail me any questions you would like answered here. ^^

Problem with the edge?
Please bring it back and we can take a look.
Items need to be back within 2 weeks, fairly unused and unaltered.
I can't see what is going on with the edge if it is not close to the edge you walked out with.
Apologies in advance.
Attention!
Items left for more than 30 days after completion are subject to storage fees.
Items left 3 months after completion may be sold/recycled to cover costs.
Thank you for your understanding.
